Irene Medders, age 93, passed peacefully from this life May 15th, 2020 after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family during the last days of her life.

Irene was born in Aline, GA to the late Floyd Robert Way and Bertie Clance Way.  She is survived by three children: Mary Orzechowski of Savannah, GA, Elaine Shuman of Brooklet, GA, and Patricia Bradley and (Bart) of Richmond Hill, GA; one step-son, Benjamin Royce Medders  and (Joy) of LaGrange, GA; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. As well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hugh Dorsey Medders, her brothers John Way, Earl J Way, and Felton Way; her sisters Eula Mae Newsome, Lucille Parker, and Louise Tidwell; step-children, Dennis Medders, Wanda Medders, Retha Ann Dickson, and Linda Medders.

Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm, Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Garrison officiating.

Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah.
