She was surrounded by her devoted daughter, Trudy, as she embarked on her final journey, just 9 days before reaching the incredible milestone of her 100th birthday. Now reunited with the love of her life, her husband Bob, after 25 years apart, their reunion is truly a cause for celebration.

Born on June 16, 1923, Helen embraced every day with grace and a genuine spirit that left an indelible impact on those fortunate enough to have known her. For 52 beautiful years, she shared a deep bond of love and companionship with her beloved husband, Robert Bertrum Schuneman. Together, they created a legacy of love and joy that continues to inspire and uplift their family.

Helen's kind and thoughtful gestures touched countless lives throughout her journey. She had a special talent for bringing happiness to others, whether it was through sending heartfelt greeting cards, baking delicious birthday cakes, or sharing her renowned German nut roll. The recipients of her gestures were filled with joy, and Helen found immense satisfaction in spreading love and warmth. Her traditions have been passed down through the generations, with her daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter not only continuing the tradition of sending cards but also crafting them with love and care.

Holly, Michigan, was Helen's cherished home for 39 years before she embarked on new adventures, first in Arizona and then in Georgia. As a devoted member of various Lutheran Churches, Helen found solace and strength in her faith, and she shared her devotion with those around her.

Helen's memory will forever be treasured by her beloved daughter, Trudy Dennis, and son-in-law David. Her legacy continues through her granddaughter, Heather Vanags, and her husband, Dr. Jonas Vanags, as well as her great-granddaughter, Madelyn and her sister Shirley Houvener. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her love and kindness.

Beyond her acts of love, Helen found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed spending time bowling with friends, creating beautiful knitted creations, and nurturing her beloved garden. Her commitment to health and well-being was evident in her daily ritual of drinking three glasses of milk, a testament to her dedication and discipline.
