Helen Britt Ellis, age 84, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Helen was born in Lumberton, NC.  She lived a number of years in Tifton before making Richmond Hill her home 23 years ago.  She was member of Corinth Baptist Church.

She was a pianist in numerous churches that she attended.  Helen started playing the piano in her home church in North Carolina at the age of nine.  She enjoyed sewing and she loved her husband and family very much.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Janie Britt; her brothers, David Earl Britt and William Howard Britt, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jack Ellis of Richmond Hill; her children, Jay Ellis (Michelle) of Springfield, GA, Charlotte Hunter (David) of Savannah, Angela Wilmes (Ron) of Smithville, MO, and Matt Ellis (Opal) of Richmond Hill; her grandchildren, Austin and Stephan Ellis, Brandon Jenkins, Derrick Hunter, Kyle Hunter, Trevor Burdette, Amber Weeks, Steven Weeks, Joshua Weeks, Taylor Vanvickle, Madison Vice, Brynnen Wilmes, Zach Ellis, and Logan Ellis; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, May 22, 2023 at Corinth Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
