Guy Craig Weaver, Sr., 77, of Midway, Georgia, died January 25, 2025, two days before his 78th
birthday.

Craig was born in Savannah, GA on January 27, 1947 to Carl Herbert Weaver, Sr. and Grace
Jackson Weaver. A Coastal Georgia native, Craig spent most of his childhood in Savannah and
exploring on Tybee Island where his family's history was closely linked. His maternal
grandfather (George Boyd Jackson) was the last civilian lighthouse keeper at the Tybee Island
Light Station.

Craig graduated from Armstrong College with a BA in history. A war veteran, Craig served our
country during the Vietnam War as part of the Army Security Agency (ASA) from 1970-1972.
He quickly learned Vietnamese in his training at the Defense Language Institute Foreign
Language Center in Monterey, California and was then stationed in Nha Trang, South Vietnam in
1971. He was also stationed in Phu Bai, Vietnam.

Upon returning to the United States, he taught for nearly thirty years at Savannah Technical
College in computer programming. Craig enjoyed researching family genealogy, participating in local archaeological digs, and collecting stamps, artifacts, and antique bottles.

Craig was preceded in death by both his parents, his sister Laura Candice Jackson, and his infant
son, Duc Toan Weaver.

Craig is survived by his wife, Sandra and her two sons James Burroughs (Judi) with children
William, David, and Jordan; Will Burroughs (Kevan) and their children Ben and Ava; along with
step-great grandson, Liam.

He is also survived by his brother, Carl Herbert (Herb) Weaver, Jr. (Carol); Lan T. Nguyen
Weaver and her children with Craig: Guy Craig Weaver, Jr. (Dani) and Kimberly Lan Wallace
(John); grandchildren: Mattilyn Sauer, Guy Caleb Weaver, Joshua Weaver, Andrew, Peter,
Josiah, and Christiana Wallace, and great grandson Guy Crew Weaver, along with many friends
and relatives.

The family encourages all to look to Jesus, our only sure hope in life and death. "Seek the Lord
while He may be found; call upon Him while he is near." Isaiah 55:6

Funeral service to be held on Monday, February 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Richmond Hill Funeral Home; visitation beginning at 10 a.m.

Burial to follow at 1:00 p.m. Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 8819 U.S. Hwy 301 in Glennville.
