Obituary

Gordon Holland, born on August 18, 1927, was a native of Tattnall County and lived in Richmond Hill since 1956. He was a graduate of Collins High School. During WWII, he served as a Seaman First Class in the US Navy Reserve. He was a retired pipefitter who worked 38 1/2 for Union Camp. As a faithful member of the Richmond Hill United Methodist Church, he volunteered in many capacities.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis Elizabeth Hodges Holland; son, David G. Holland; grandson, Lewis F. Tuttle III; parents, Barney Holland and Ida Bell Lynn Holland; brothers, Harry Holland, Jamie Dale Holland, Sidney Merrell Holland; and sisters, Ina Mae Shuman and Irma Jean Purvis.
Gordon is survived by three  daughters, Elizabeth Sieg, Yvonne (Bill) Benton, and Dale (Skip) Tuttle;sister, Janice Sapp; brother, Ronnie Holland; six grandchildren, Dee Dee Daniel, John (Marie) Benton, Ross (Catherine)  Benton, Elizabeth Tuttle, Lauren (Thomas) Powell, and J. Holland; nine great-grand children, Justin Daniel, Ashley  Waller, Miles Benton, Taylor Benton, Ashton Benton, Robert  Benton, Charlotte Benton, Violet Powell, and Griffin Powell; sister-in-law, Carolyn Holland; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Richmond Hill United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Richmond Hill United Methodist Church.
