Gloria W. Erickson, age 81, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019 after a lengthy illness.

Gloria was born in Savannah. She lived in Miami for many years before moving back to Richmond Hill in 2003.  She was a founding member of Bethel Baptist Church.  Gloria liked to crochet and gardening until her health declined.  She worked for many years for Walmart and Kmart.

She is survived by her husband George Erickson of Richmond Hill; her daughter, Deborah Hite (Jim) of Chapel Hill, NC; her son, Harold "Hal" B. Shuman, Jr. (Pam) of Richmond Hill; her siblings, Gerald (Pat) Wilson, Sherry Dell (Gene) Clark, Sandra (Walton) White, Rosie (Mike) Saxon, Roxie (Jimmy) Herring, and Charles (Libby) Wilson; her 4 grandchildren, Bobby Schooley, Trey Shuman, Will Shuman, and Victoria Shuman; her 3 great-grandchildren, Naomi, Luke, and John Schooley.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
