Glenda (Dink) Newberry Weed, age 78, passed away Monday, December 18, 2023 at her residence.

Glenda was born in Bainbridge, GA to the late Horace and Betty Jo Newberry.

She has lived in Richmond Hill for over 50 years.  Glenda was president of her 12th grade high school graduating class.  She attended Nursing School in Savannah at Candler Hospital.  She went back to college and obtained her BSN degree from Armstrong College.  She was a member of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church.

Glenda worked with the VA Clinic in Savannah for over 30 years.  She helped Veterans who were suffering from alcohol abuse and mental health disorders.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Dunning Weed, Jr.; her parents, Horace and Betty Jo Spooner Newberry; and a sister, Janet Erickson.

Glenda is survived by her daughter, Florence Eliza Weed; her son, Joseph Dunning Weed, III; her grandchildren, Lauren Jones Oneal, Sheldon Dunning Weed, Sarah Phillips (Elliott), and Suzanne Brinson (Will); 6 great-grandchildren; her nieces, Priscilla Erickson Cowart, Maury Weed, and Courtney Donaldson (Matt);  nephew, Patrick King; and two great-nephews

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Richmond Hill Funeral Home.
