Gertrude Williams Swain, 92, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Pruitt Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Gertrude was born in Guyton, GA. She lived in Newington, GA for many years before moving to Richmond Hill 15 years ago. She was a member of Newington Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Swain, Sr.; a daughter, Liz Williams Stovall; and a grandson, Corey Swain.

Gertrude is survived by her children, Howard E. Swain, Jr. (Lydia) of Ozark, AL, Cindy Swain Anderson of Richmond Hill, Brian Swain of Jesup, Carolyn Villafania (John) of Fayetteville, NC, and Art Counts (Rhonda) of Cobbtown, GA; a sister, Cheryl Ange (Doug) of Buckingham, VA; a brother, Vernon Williams (Jackie) of Florida; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6pm-8pm, Friday, December 18, 2020 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the Bickley Chapel Cemetery in Camden County, GA.
