George Edward Beasley, Jr., age 65, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 at his residence.

George was born in Savannah.   He has lived in Midway for the past 30 years and prior to that he made his home in Valdosta.

He was a U.S. Coast veteran and a member of Bible Baptist Church in Savannah.  He was a painter and worked for Chapman Painting for many years.  George was an expert marksman and loved to target shoot.  He was avid coin collector. George loved watching western movies and he enjoyed playing golf.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Beasley, Sr.

George is survived by a daughter, Jessica Murphy (Alex) of Rincon; a son, George Beasley, III (Audra) of Guyton; his mother, Jo Nell Beasley of Midway; two sisters, Jan Tucker of Darien and Jo Beasley of Midway; a brother, Kenneth Beasley (Rebecca) of Savannah; his grandchildren, Kaleb Murphy, Haley Murphy, and George Beasley, IV.

George's cremated remains will be buried at sea by the U.S. Coast Guard.
