Richmond Hill – Gene J. DeChristofaro, age 61, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Gene was born in Jersey City, NJ, but lived most of his life in Richmond Hill. He was a custom design carpenter and owner of Father & Son Construction Co.  He loved baseball, fishing, watching movies, and cooking Italian spaghetti sauce.  He coached men's league baseball.

Gene is preceded in death by a son, Adam; a granddaughter, Chelsey Myrick; a brother, Johnny; and a sister, Louise.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Altman DeChristofaro of Richmond Hill; his son, Vincent DeChristofaro (Jennifer) of Richmond Hill; his daughter, Stacy Symons (Don) of Richmond Hill; his sisters, Annette, Mary, Margaret, Donna, Jane; and his brothers, Vincent and Tony.

Funeral Service: 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Speer officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
