Gary Andrew Leitner passed away, leaving behind a life marked by service, hard work, and dedication to his family.

Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, Gary later lived in Okinawa, Japan, during his time in the United States Marine Corps before settling in Albany, Georgia, where he made his home for the past 26 years. He was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran and later retired from the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany.

Gary earned his master's degree from Georgia Tech and valued education and steady perseverance throughout his career. He was known for being social, practical, and dependable.

In his spare time, Gary enjoyed stamp collecting, working on cars, traveling, and was an animal lover. He appreciated simple hobbies and good conversation with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Leitner; his daughter, Julie DeLong (Joseph); his son, Mark Leitner (Donna); his brother, Al Leitner (Charlene); his sister, Judy Hall (Gary); and his grandchildren, David Leitner, Anna DeLong, and Elizabeth Leitner.

Funeral services will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026.

Gary will be remembered by those who knew him as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
