Frank Richard Foss, Jr., 82, passed away peacefully at home on February 21, 2026, after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, Frank was the son of the late Fran R. Foss, Sr. and Anna Ruth Foss. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Thurman.

Frank proudly served his country in the United States Army with the 1st Cavalry Division, 17th Regiment. Following his military service, he was a past member of Iron Workers Local 709. A true entrepreneur, he built his real estate ventures from the ground up, fueled by grit, persistence, hard work, and an unshakable belief in himself. Over the course of more than 50 years in Savannah, he ran a successful business and earned the respect of many for his determination and vision.

Frank lived life the way many only dreamed about — full throttle and without fear. He had a deep love for the Ogeechee and the open sky. Whether he was running a speed boat, hang gliding, or flying his ultralight aircraft, he chased adventure with a fearless spirit that defined who he was. To those who knew him best, he was more than a thrill seeker. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a loyal friend, and a man who loved deeply in his own steady way. He valued independence, loyalty, and his motto throughout life was simple: work hard, play hard and that he did.

He will be remembered for the trails he blazed, the skies he flew, and the wake he left behind — not only on the water, but in the lives of those who knew and loved him.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Angelia Foss; his son, Frank R. Foss III (Kerri); his daughter, Tocha Cicherillo (Bob); and his sisters, Deborah Foss (Chris) and Terry Foss (Robin), his much beloved granddaughters, Milania Cicherillo, Haven Foss, Alicyn Foss, and Falyn Foss, each of whom brought immense joy and light into his life.

Frank's legacy of strength, adventure, determination, and unwavering devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah.
