Ervin Kovacs, a baptized and confirmed Catholic, born in Ürӧm, Hungary has passed away at the age 82 at home on Friday, 11 March 2022. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margit Kovacs. His brother, József Kovacs, his three sons, David, Zoltan, and Ervin as well as six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Ervin was a devoted Husband and Loving father who will be greatly missed by his wife and family, and all who knew him.

Growing up in Communist Hungary, he vowed that he will do everything in his power to give his family a better future. And so, he, through many hardships, was able to relocate with his family to the land of opportunity, namely the United States of America.

He was an incredible Locksmith, machinist and handy man. A graduate of a rigorous four-year machinist trade school in Hungary where he gained superior skills pertaining to electronics, mechanics, and welding. Later on, he also learned every skill pertaining to home building. As it was, there was nothing Ervin couldn't fix or make work better. He was a handyman that has no equal. Everywhere he worked he was praised for his superior skills which was unmatched by anyone.  He also served in the Hungarian Army where he won a series of physical competitions (like a triathlon) and became soldier of the year. His past experience in competing in gymnastics attributed to his victories. He excelled in everything he ever attempted in his life.

Among the things he enjoyed (other than using his tools to fix things) is Jazz and 50's music, his collection of guns, swimming and seafood.

We are all going to miss him greatly for we all have a lot to be thankful for, for his love and care, his hard work and for his courage to lead us all to a better life. We Love and miss you!!!

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Burnt Church Cemetery in Richmond Hill.
