Erin Melissa Dillard, age 39, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021.

Erin was born in Bryn Mawr, PA.  She was a resident of Hinesville and Pooler for the past 8 years.

Erin was a U.S. Army veteran and served over six years as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician with assignments at the 766th Ordnance Company (EOD) and 38th Ordnance Company (EOD) located at Fort Stewart, GA, and the 22nd Chemical Battalion, Technical Escort Unit, EOD Detachment located at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD. Before entering into military service, Erin was a firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in Denver, CO. Once she left the military, Erin continued her work as an advanced EMT for several private ambulance companies in the greater Savannah area.

She was a lifelong learner, academic achiever, and collegiate athlete. Erin played Women's Ice Hockey for Neuman College and graduated Summa Cum Laude while earning her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Computer and Information Management, class of December 2005. She continued pursuing higher education after her military service. Erin studied emergency medicine and at Savannah Technical College and pharmaceutical prerequisites at Georgia Southern University. At the time of her passing, she was pursuing her Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) from the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy.

Erin loved drawing, painting, music, and woodworking, but most of all loved being a mother and loved her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Dillard; two brothers, Brian Murphy (Liz) and Andy Murphy (Yoko), step-siblings Tim Leon Guerrero (Amy), Ted Leon Guerrero (Ginny), and Tina Taggart (Herb); the father of her child, Eric Dillard; 10 nieces and nephews, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
