Elizabeth "Libby" Bagley Braun was transported by angels to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 24, 2023, after an extended illness.

Libby was born October 23, 1944, to Earl G. and Donnell B. Bagley and was a lifelong resident of Liberty County.

She graduated from Bradwell Institute in 1962, where she starred as a women's basketball player. In 1968 she married her soulmate, Richard "Dicky" Braun.

She went on to obtain her bachelor's degree and master's degree in school social work which led to her true calling. She retired from the Liberty County School District where she is best remembered as a caring school social worker who loved "her kids." She would buy coats and food for the less fortunate children she served because her heart always had one more "give" in it.

She was no-nonsense "get it done" person, but also known for her big ever-present smile that would light up a room. She had a great impact on those that she fiercely loved.

Libby was preceded in death by her parents.

Those left to cherish her memory are her long-time husband Dicky, a son, Richard "Richy" Braun Jr. (Jennifer); brother, Earl G. Bagley, Jr. (Betsy); "Bibi's crew": two granddaughters Burnette Elizabeth "Bunny" Braun, Evie Jane Braun; four step-grandchildren Kinslee Bradley, Kindall Lee, Klayton Lee and Klaire Lee, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

The family will have a private ceremony.
