Edward Harold Smith, Jr., age 52, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023.

Hal was born in Macon, GA.  He has lived in Rogersville, AL for the past 13 years.  He graduated from Richmond Hill High School Class of 1988.

Hal worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority until he became disabled.  He was a retired Senior Chief in the U.S. Navy having served 20 years.  During his career in the Navy, he served aboard several submarines.  Hal loved shooting and being on the water.

He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Harold Smith, Sr.

Hal is survived by his daughter, Tabitha Nelson (Alex) of Charleston, SC; his son, Edward Harold Smith, III (Amber) of Charleston, SC; his mother, Cheryl Hibberts (Steve) of Richmond Hill; his brother, Cecil Smith (Lori) of McDonough, GA; five grandchildren, Gage, Brayden, Jaxon, Findley, and Halie; and two nieces.

Memorial services with full military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home.
