Port Wentworth/Richmond Hill-Dorothy Gable Wells, age 83, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017 at Candler Hospital.
Dorothy was born in Chatham County, GA. She lived in Richmond Hill and Port Wentworth for many years. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church and a current member of Lighthouse Sunday School Class-Golden Gems Sr. Adult. Dorothy attended the Ed Young Sr. Citizen Center and was a teacher for the Youth Dept. of Richmond Hill Holy Church of God.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Hugh W. Wells and Rev. Woodrow W. Gable; parents, Andrew Paul West and Sara Etta West; brother, Paul West; a sister, Delores Goggans.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Daniel W. Wells (Michelle) of Richmond Hill; a sister, Sarah Nell Gay (Robert) of Savannah; grandchildren, Kinney Wells, Michael Hancock, and Kim Hancock; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Richmond Hill Full Gospel Church, 7056 Hwy 17 South in Richmond Hill. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery.
