Donald S Durant, 71, of Richmond Hill passed away Monday afternoon April 4, 2022 at home. Born on January 7, 1951 in Savannah, Georgia to Frank and Isabel Durant, he was the middle of three children. A graduate of Savannah High School and Armstrong Atlantic State University, he enjoyed a successful career in finance and the insurance industry for over 40 years. Don had a love of golf, fishing and the outdoors and coached his sons in sports.

A devoted follower of our Lord Jesus Christ, he was an active servant in his faith community. Don helped establish Richmond Hill Community Bible Study. In 2001 he joined New Beginnings Community Church, becoming an active member of parish ministries.

Survived by his wife of 28 years Anne Lloyd Durant, of Savannah; younger brother Frank Durant III; sons Donald Durant Jr. & his fiancée Donnie Senterfitt, Gill Durant & his wife Melanie, Seth Durant & his wife Danielle and Stuart Kent & his wife Ashley; grandchildren Roxanne Kent & Sibley Durant; and extended family. Donald was preceded in death by his elder sister Carolyn Durant.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, April 8, 2022 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home, followed by interment at Burnt Church Cemetery and a dinner reception to follow immediately after at New Beginnings Community Church (75 Crosswind Drive, Richmond Hill)
