Deborah Elaine Raulerson Powell, 74, of Richmond Hill, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, in Savannah. Born on February 16, 1952, in Savannah, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Roy Ignatius Raulerson and Mamie Mauise Reddick Raulerson. Deborah inherited her mother's strong spirit and her father's generous heart, qualities that guided her throughout her life.

Deborah dedicated her career to education as a teacher with Duval County Public Schools, where she touched the lives of countless students before retiring. She was a member of Callahan First Baptist Church in Callahan, Florida, and lived her life with compassion, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to her family and faith. Deborah and her husband, Jimmy, shared a love of travel and found great joy in exploring new places together.
Family was the center of Deborah's life. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, caring sister, and loyal friend whose greatest joy came from being with those she loved. She will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and caring heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lawrence R. Raulerson.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Jimmy Powell; two daughters, Casey Powell Collins (Michael) and Kelly Leigh Powell; one son, Vance Taylor Powell; her cherished grandchildren, Melissa, Brooke, Crew, and Easton; her sister, Linda R. Bragg (Dave); her sisters-in-law, Tonya Raulerson, Cheryl Powell, Juanita Hales, Laverne Lee (Richard); her brother-in-law, H.A. Powell (Kelly); and a host of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Deborah's life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Deborah's memory.
