Deborah Swenson Brinkman, age 68, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019, of a long illness. Deborah lived most of her life in Savannah and recently in Richmond Hill, Ga.   She was a retired admissions counselor at South University.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Melba Huggins Chiles of Savannah, and her father, Robert Swenson, of Seattle, WA. She is survived by a son, Robert Russell Welch of Lake Wales, Fla.; a sister, Laura Register (Sean) of Richmond Hill, and a brother, Freddy Swenson (Linda) of Jesup, Ga.

Deborah was a very compassionate person who always thought of others before herself. She enjoyed reading and the arts. There will be a private graveside ceremony in Oliver, GA at 10 a.m. on April 27th.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Savannah Humane Society.
