Dean was an over the road truck driver and managed H.E. Rentals for several years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Dean Handley, Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Louis & Tam Handley of Atlanta, GA; his maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Ralph George of Garden City, GA; his uncles, Truitt Jordan of Garden City and Frankie Crosby of Richmond Hill; his cousin, Greg Anderson of Savannah.

Dean is survived by his loving wife, Wanda of Beaufort; his loving son & daughters, Jason Handley of Jesup, GA and Dixie Handley of Pooler and Cheri Mueller of Savannah; his mother & step-father, Mary Lou and Shannon Gillis of Richmond Hill; his step-sisters, Sheila Hoselton of Stockbridge, GA and Teresa Holt (Bobby) of Tennessee; his grandchildren, Tyler J. Mueller, Jr. & Dixie Mueller; his step-children, Jay & April Heath, Justin & Ashley Heath and Jessica Heath; five step-grandchildren; his aunts, Jean Hartley (Dan) of Guyton, GA, Judy Crosby of Richmond Hill, Karen Urban of Ladson, S.C., and Marianne Smith (Tim) of Richmond Hill; his uncle, William Handley of Florida; many cousins including Jill Mixon of Midway, Brenda Garrett (Matt) of Wilmington Island, Brad Anderson (Sara) of Guyton, Lisa handley of Dothan, AL, and Kelly Handley; and the mother of his children, Polly Handley of Jesup.

Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 6:30 pm with a memorial service to follow on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the Richmond Hill Funeral Home.
