David James Minning, age 50 of Richmond Hill, passed away at home and went to be with the Lord after a courageous 15-month battle with liver bile duct cancer.  He was a committed Christian who loved the Lord and showed it consistently in his faith, conduct, service to others, and inspiring testimony in word and deed.  He was deeply respected and loved for his dedication to his family, his friends, his community, his church, and his work at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation.

He was born in Detroit, Michigan, lived in Warren, Sterling Heights, and Clinton Township, and worked as an engineer in the automotive field until moving with his family to Richmond Hill, Georgia in 2006 to work at Gulfstream in Savannah.

He is pre-deceased by his father, Donald Minning (Sharon), with whom he is now enjoying a glorious reunion.  Surviving are his mother Susanna Finn (Tom), his wife of 17 years Monica, his sons Matthew (16) and Michael (15), his sister Karen Moceri (Rick), and his brother Michael as well as extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial will be held this Sunday, July 23 with visitation beginning at 3 pm followed by a service at 4 pm at the Adult Ministry Center (AMC) of Compassion Christian Church (formerly Savannah Christian Church) on the Henderson Campus, 55 Al Henderson Blvd, Savannah, Ga 31419.   The AMC is directly across the street from the main building.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jack and Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation at jajf.org.  This organization provides an all-expenses paid vacation at a location of choice for families that have a parent with terminal cancer, and gave the Minning family a close and memorable time together at Daytona Beach in April thanks to the generosity of others.
