David Ernest Donaldson passed away on May 8, 2024 after a lengthy illness. He was born on Sept. 8, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan. He was the first child born to Robert and Evelyn Donaldson. Robert was in the Navy and the family moved to many Naval Stations during his childhood, including Memphis, Hawaii, and Corpus Christi. He attended Mississippi College and graduated from there in 1969 with a degree in Accounting. He worked as an accountant at Ernst & Ernst after graduation from college and then began his career as a Government Auditor for the Veterans Canteen Service for 13 years. Next, he worked for the US Army Audit Agency for 17 years. Upon his retirement from the Government, he opened a CPA practice in Richmond Hill.

His interests included NASCAR racing, Fishing, Guns, and Cooking.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, June Cato Donaldson, and his two daughters, Amy K. Wedincamp (Adam) and Mary Jane Bazemore (James). He is also survived by his brother Patrick Donaldson (Mary Beth), his sister Barbara Frase (Fritz), and his sister-in-law Jane Cato Poche'. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Chris Donaldson, Leslie Raimundo, Kristi Gonzales, Melissa Edmonds, and Ted Donaldson.

He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Evelyn Donaldson and his brother, Lawrence Donaldson.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Wednesday, 15 May at 1p.m.
