Mr. Charles Edward Lee, affectionately known to some as "BULLDOG," entered eternal, peaceful rest with the Lord on Saturday, February 5, 2022, after a lengthy illness. He was born on October 25, 1958, in Richmond Hill, Georgia in Bryan County to the union of the late Francis, Sr. and Josephine Houston Lee. He was the sixth child of their thirteen children (ten sisters and two brothers). His parents, one brother (Francis, Jr.), and two sisters (Carolyn Lee and Jennie Houston) preceded him in death.

Charles was baptized into the Christian faith and became a member of Bryan Neck Missionary Baptist Church in Richmond Hill, Georgia. He attended the public schools of Bryan County and furthered his education through on-the-job training at his places of employment. He worked in diverse types of industries during his career even entrepreneurship―he spent years working as a laborer/mechanic at National Wire in Savannah, Georgia, deckhand/header on shrimp boats at the Co-op in Richmond Hill, Georgia, and an all-around handyman specializing in carpentry, painting, brick masonry, plumbing, and roofing.

Charles was united in holy matrimony on December 3, 1982, to Sara Brown and one child was born, Antwan Curtis Lee. Although his marriage did not survive the test of time, strong family ties continued.

"Bulldog" was a real free spirit. He lived in Richmond Hill, Georgia most of his life and stayed devoted to family, church, and community. He moved his family to Tampa, Florida in 1988, returned to Richmond Hill in 1991, and then changed his residence to Tampa, Florida again in 2017. He lived in Tampa until his demise.

He was an enthusiastic outdoors person who enjoyed fishing, shrimping, crabbing, hunting, camping, and getting back to nature.

Charles will be remembered for his generous spirit and kindnesses, sense of humor, infectious smile, love of dancing, and as a courageous one that "survives" ―he fought a good fight. He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving, devoted son, Antwan Curtis Lee (Tameka), Savannah, GA; one brother, Ronald Lee, Tampa, FL; eight sisters:  Rose Roffee, Tampa, FL, Shirley Houston, Tampa, FL, Lucinda Green, Hayes, Virginia, Cynthia "Tweety" Lee, Richmond Hill, GA, Ann Golden, Brunswick, GA , Jacqueline (Salvadore) Roberts, Richmond Hill, GA,  Renette "Winky" Loadholt, Savannah, GA, Verdiamae Moore, Richmond Hill, GA; grandchildren, Gabriel Stephon Lee, Savannah, GA, and Cierra Antzeá Lee, Cocoa, FL; great-grand child Milani Nevaeh Jackson, Cocoa, FL; god-daughter Stacey Higgins (Bret), Garfield Heights, OH; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Richmond Hill Funeral.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
