Charles Hill, age 64, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah.

Charles was born in Athens, GA.  He has lived the past 20+ years in Savannah.  He retired as a noncommissioned officer after 21 years in the U.S. Army.  Charles was a veteran of the Gulf War and Desert Storm.  He received numerous awards and medals including the National Defense Service Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Star.

After retiring from the Army, he worked at Fort Stewart for over 15 years.  Charles enjoyed fishing and watching old movies.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, Willie Frank Hill and Rufus Smith.

Charles is survived by his wife, Cheryl Hill of Savannah; daughters, Jasmine Gill of Richmond Hill and Isabell Jerez of Savannah; a son, Caleb Jerez of Seattle, WA; his siblings, Louise and Wade Bradford and James Neal; his grandchild, Allaiyah Berry; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial with military honors will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, GA.
