Charles Christopher "Chris" Parsons slid into home on March 18, 2020 at the age of 69. He was a member of 243rd Assault Helicopter Support Company in Vietnam, a member of the Disabled American Veterans,  a member of The Knights of Columbus, Umpire associations, including the Hinesville Officials Association and Georgia High School Association.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Frances Jerome "Jerry" Parsons and his mother, Helen Ruth Johnson Parsons. He is survived by his daughters, Helena Parsons, Janalin Parsons, and Michelle Taylor (Dave); his wife Janis Parsons, ex wife Mary Parsons; siblings, Linda Ferrell (Rick), Thadeus Parsons (Pam), Cynthia Axson (Sam); granddaughter, Courtney Cutting, great-grandchildren Brody and Eleanor as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

He worked for years as a Control Room Operator at Colonial Oil. He was retired but stayed busy. He enjoyed being an baseball umpire. He was an avid golfer and a huge sports fan. Over the years he excelled at many sports. He played football, half rubber, softball, and more. He enjoyed many hobbies such as golfing, fishing, playing pool, woodworking, building, playing games and cheering on the Atlanta Falcons and the Atlanta Braves.

He was a good friend to many, as well as a mentor. He had a competitive spirit. He was a motivator. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. He helped in the community through various organizations. He had great pride in his daughters and in his service to his Country.

Life's journey is not to arrive safely at the grave in a well-preserved body, rather to skid in sideways totally worn out, shouting, "Holy Cow, What a Ride!" ~Anonymous

Private service to be held at Richmond Hill Funeral Home with burial in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
