Bonnie (McDonald) Assude, age 62, went to meet her bridegroom Jesus Christ, on Thursday April 14, 2022.  Bonnie, known affectionately to family and friends as "Boat", was born on September 20, 1959 in Binghamton, New York to Doris Singer and David McDonald. Her husband of 15 years, Rev. John James Wheaton, beat her to the pearly gates of heaven on December 13, 1997. She was a current resident of Midway, Georgia, living with her daughter Faith (Wheaton) Anderson, son-in-law Sean, and four grandchildren Jessie, Elias, Evelyn, and Ezra. She leaves in love 5 additional children, Christopher (Tonya) Stuart, Danielle (Dan) Buchanan, Seth Fleming, Lucas Williams, Aaron Williams, and all her beautiful grandchildren.

Bonnie's final message to everyone, is a message declaring the hope and comfort she found in Jesus. Through the good times and the bad times, when she was on the right track and when she was led astray, she knew that God would not leave her side. When all words would fail, she knew that her knees could hit the ground and the altar would catch her tears. She wants you to know that no matter what you have battled through during your life, God welcomes you with open arms, just as you are.

It is Bonnie's final wish that her life, and the hope that she held tight to in Christ, be celebrated with a "Halleluiah Party". She will be arriving to her party in a beautiful wedding gown she personally selected, and a crown upon her head as the daughter of the most high King.  She asks that you come in a way that makes you feel comfortable, whether that is in a ball gown or suit as a member of the wedding party, or shorts and flip flops relaxing in the joy that only Jesus can give.

A time of visitation will take place on Saturday April 23 ^rd at 3:00pm at Compassion Christian Church located at 12199 E. Oglethorpe Hwy. Midway, Georgia 31320, followed by an interactive service at 4:00pm. Chaplain Alan White of Your Family Hospice will be officiating the service, with arrangement assistance by Richmond Hill Funeral Home.
