Billy Gene Wedincamp, 87, passed away on December 22, 2025.

He was born in Riceboro, GA on August 24, 1938 to Grady L. and Mallivene M. Wedincamp. He was raised in Midway, GA and met Betty Drushal in Washington D.C in 1962 while serving in the US Army on the Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. They were married on January 18, 1963.

His profession, after serving in the Army, was a long-haul truck driver, which he did for 50 years. Betty team-drove trucks with him for several years and managed their company.

He taught all three of his sons to drive professionally. The family lived in Hampton, GA, Chattanooga, TN and then moved back and settled in Midway, GA. He was an avid reader, with a collection of several hundred books. He also loved gardening and raising his own food. He was very religious and was a devoted member of Fleming Baptist Church for over 40 years.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty, children Lynne (Randy) Buck, Dean (Patricia), Eric (Dana), Adam (Amy), and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents and siblings, Grady Jr., Charlie, and Linda Watkins.

A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life is planned for January 23, 2026, at 11:00am at Fleming Baptist Church, 3526 N. Coastal Hwy., Midway, GA 31320.
