Billy J. Smith was born Nov. 9, 1947 in Savannah, GA and went home to be with his Lord on Friday, January 2, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Inez (Bashlor) Smith; his brother, Edward Smith; and a nephew, Hal Smith.

Billy leaves behind his loving wife, Terrie Cox Smith; son, Billy Kim Smith; sister, Beverly Floyd Smith; sister-in-law, Cheryl Smith Hibberts (Steve); step-daughter, Lauren Griffis Caylor (Jason); step-son, Christopher Griffis (Melissa); ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one niece; and two nephews.

Billy was saved and baptized in Bethel Baptist Church where he has remained a faithful member.  He was ardent about sharing the gospel with anyone he met.

He will be greatly missed by friends and family.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill Cemetery.
