Ben Hilton Chapman was born 2/10/37 in Collins, Ga . He graduated in pharmacy from the University of Georgia and was a respected pharmacist and business owner in the Savannah area , Vidalia , and Richmond Hill where he founded Richmond Hill Pharmacy .

He was loved and admired for his warm generous spirit , his wry sense of humor, his keen insight , his knowledge of all things mechanical. He had a remarkable work ethic and physical strength and stamina despite the challenges as a survivor of polio .

He enjoyed tinkering on engines  and pulling weeds , long conversations on the front porch and hearty meals.  He had a love of kayaking and  Orphaned animals ( Charlie the dog and Gus the goose ) . He treasured his family and grandchildren and his friendships .

He was pre deceased by his wife Louise. He is survived by his children Laura Renbaum , Ben Chapman , and Nelson Chapman , their loving spouses  Louis, Cindy , Marnie ( respectively) and grandchildren Leah, Lindsay, Hannah and Ben III, Grayson and Cole as well as seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Richmond Hill Funeral Home in Richmond Hill, GA Sat, 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Shriners Hospital for kids.
