Antonio Vonzell Sampson, age 52, passed away Friday, February 18, 2022 at St. Joseph Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA.

He was born at EA Conway Hospital in Monroe, Louisiana on Aug. 15 th , 1969.  He grew up in Corey, La and matriculated to Grambling State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 1992. He then moved to Michigan, where he met the love of his life, his wife, Maria Sampson. He served 14 years of active duty in the army where he traveled to various countries. He moved to Hinesville in 1995 while still active in the military. He then later moved to Richmond Hill in 2006.

He worked as "The" finance manager at Liberty Chrysler Jeep dealership since 2013. He was always available and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone and everyone who needed it. He never met a stranger. He was a devoted member of Omega Psi Phi and a Free and Accepted Mason (F@AM).

Tony is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Ann Stephens-Kennedy; his maternal grandparents, who raised him, Garfield and Elouise Sampson; his stepfather Calvin Stephens Sr.; his paternal grandparents LeAndrew and Willa Mae Gray.

He is survived by his father, Anthony Gray; his wife, Maria Sampson; his four children, Brandon, Jamar, Devin, and Antonia; his two sisters, Sabrina Sampson and Zelena Gray; his three step siblings, Calvin Stephen Jr, Alonzita Stephens, and Darian Stephens; his 2 grandchildren, Caterina Messico and Aurora Augurson; and his stepfather Harold F Kennedy Jr.

A "Celebration of Life" gathering will be held in Louisiana at a later date.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2022 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 3pm prior to the service.
