Ann A. Hendley, age 82, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Ann was born in Savannah. She lived her early life in Savannah before moving to Richmond Hill in 1981.  She graduated from Commercial High School in 1953 and was named "Miss Commercial" that same year.

She worked as an administrative assistant at Georgia Regional Hospital and Chatham County Health Department for many years. Ann was a member of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild.  Ann and Jimmy were one of the founding families of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church.  She loved to bowl and play cards.

Ann is survived by her husband of 65 years, James E. Hendley, Sr. of Richmond Hill; her daughters, Sherrie Ann Hendley and Teresa Slater (Matt) both of Richmond Hill; her son, James E. Hendley, Jr. of Wildwood, FL; a sister, Beth Korey of Callahan, FL; a brother, Larry Ward of Atlanta; three grandchildren, James Edward Hendley, III, Katherine Almand, and Benjamin Sikes; five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Burnt Church Cemetery, Richmond Hill, GA.
